Taking this shot was a bit of a gamble. To get a nice smooth look to the water behind the model I had to drop my shutter speed down to about 1/15th of a second. Considering it was cold and wet in that location my poor model had to make it a point to hold very still and not shiver…even a little.
I think it worked out quite well :-)

First of what I’m sure will be many images out at the Painted Hills in central Oregon. The color is pretty much straight out of the camera with just a bit of contrast tweaking. It is amazing the different tones and hues one finds in nature.
